St. Croix's First Urgent Care

For nearly two decades, Acute Alternative Medical Group has been a trusted source of compassionate, comprehensive care for the St. Croix community. Founded in 2006 by Lyn A. Campbell, MD, the practice grew from a commitment to make high-quality medical care more convenient, personal, and accessible for island residents.

Dr. Campbell, an experienced emergency medicine physician and former leader within the local hospital’s emergency department, established St. Croix’s first urgent care center as a practical alternative for patients who need timely attention but may not require an emergency-room visit. Conveniently located near the hospital, Acute Alternative continues to work collaboratively within the island’s healthcare community while offering a welcoming setting focused on the individual behind every visit.

Today, Dr. Campbell remains actively involved in patient care alongside his sister, Lauryn Campbell, and a dedicated team of medical professionals. As a locally rooted, family-led practice, Acute Alternative provides a wide range of care options designed to meet more of your health needs in one place. The practice has remained steadfast through Hurricane Maria, COVID-19, and the changing needs of St. Croix, continuing its longstanding mission: delivering experienced, respectful care to the community it calls home.
